Read the full details for OHSA's new rules here.

Summary of changes to the reporting requirements for employers

As of January 1, 2015, all employers must report:

Only fatalities occurring within 30 days of the work-related incident must be reported to OSHA. Further, for an inpatient hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye, these incidents must be reported to OSHA only if they occur within 24 hours of the work-related incident.

State plan states that cover public employees will have to determine how they will comply with the new rule. However, a public employer in a state plan state can call the 800 # and be routed to an appropriate state representative.

OSHA has also developed many new publications to inform employers and employees. These new publications are available here.
